Robert Tweedy

Tweedy, Robert, 86, of Wichita, KS passed away peacefully on Sat. Jan. 24, 2015 at his home in Wichita. Robert was born on Dec. 1, 1928 in Sallisaw, OK the son of Will and Stella (Wood) Tweedy. Robert and Ruth Tweedy were united in marriage on Sept. 14, 1954 in Sallisaw, Ok. Together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Robert retired in 1995 from Safeway Farmland Inc. after 38 years. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Robert served 3 years in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Robert F. Tweedy, Granddaughter, Melissa Tweedy, brother, Wilburn Tweedy, sisters, Dora Marie Hale, Shelby Tweedy. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Tweedy, children, Toni (Brent) Titus, Dixie (Mike) Dorriety, Leslie (Don) Keene, Dennis Tweedy, Sharon Ruth (Mike) Walker, Janet (John) McCartney, Todd Tweedy, brother, Leroy Tweedy, sisters, Louis Ann Tweedy, Lula Bell Maness, Dorothy Tweedy, 17 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and many extended family. Visitation will be held on Wed. Jan. 28, 2015 with family present from 6 to 8pm at Lakeview Funeral Home, 12100 E. 13th St. N., Wichita. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Thurs. Jan. 29, 2015 at Immanuel Baptist Church, 1415 S. Topeka St., Wichita. Burial will follow at Lakeview Cemetery, Wichita. Memorials can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 3316 Bee Caves Rd.
