Ronald Gene Murray, age 86, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024. He was born in Springdale, Wisconsin on February 5, 1938, to the late Leslie E. and Ethel (Chilson) Murray and brother to Robert, Fredrick, Arleen, Gerald, Wayne, and Terry.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 6/4/1957 and proudly served until 6/3/1960. After, he began an occupation in aircraft, where he spent 30 plus years at Cessna Aircraft, he enjoyed this career path was noticed as he received the Citation of Merit for Cessna Quality on March 13, 2001.
These merits came with great celebrations when sharing with his bride, Shirley A. Lawrence, whom he married at the courthouse in Wichita, KS on January 12, 1973. Ron went on to not only support Shirley, yet his children, Sherrell, Sharon, Dennis, Daniel Murray as well.
A life built on hard work and with the love of family that will never be forgotten.
Ronald is predeceased by his parents; his bride, Shirley; brother, Bob Murray; and infant son, Daniel Murray.
Those who continue to carry his legacy forward include his children, Sherrell Conklin, Sharon Weisner, and Dennis Murray; siblings, Fred Murray, Arleen (Fred) Lauffer, Gerald Murray, Wayne (Carol) Murray, and Terry Murray; and grandchildren, Amy (Nick) Meurer, Rita Eldridge, and Andy Eldridge; and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation for Ronald will be held Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM and committal service immediately after in the Garden of the Lord’s Prayer. All at Resthaven Mortuary and Gardens of Memory, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, KS 67209.
Serving as pallbearers are Ronald Bevan, Timothy Bevan III, Chris Wilson, James Wilson, Dwayne Murray and Jim Stein.
