Leon enjoyed crafting many items such as Native American beadwork, old buckskin outfits and numerous other projects. He will be known for his knife making abilities, everyone wanted a Leon knife.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Eunice Johnson; his parents, Oscar and Emma Johnson; his oldest son, Walter Johnson; and his grandson, Tony Johnson.
Leon is survived by his sons, Frank (Dina), Wade (Lori), and Danny (Janet) Johnson; grandchildren, Russell, Wendy, Dustin, David, Jessie and Brian; 14 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great- grandchildren.
A Visitation for Leon will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Resthaven Mortuary and a Graveside Service will occur Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in the Garden of Gethsemane, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution has been established in Leon's honor with The Mid-American All-Indian Museum, 650 N. Seneca St., Wichita, KS 67203 - theindianmuseum.org.
