

Sr. Maureen (Mary Frances) Farrar, ASC, 88, of Wichita, KS, passed away on August 10, 2024. Born September 10, 1935, in Hobart, OK, to Ralph and Isabelle (Edmundson) Farrar, she professed her first vows on July 1, 1955. Sr. Maureen earned a BA in Education and an MA in Communication Arts and served as an elementary and secondary educator across Kansas. Her roles included publications and public information director at Newman University, councilor for the Wichita Province, and Pastoral Administrator at St. Paul Catholic Mission, Crown Point, NM.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Ralph Jr. and Henry Farrar. Sr. Maureen is survived by her brothers Walter (Barbara) Farrar and George (Jan) Farrar, sister-in-law Cherri Farrar, nieces and nephews, and the ASC community.
A Welcome Home will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 2 PM, followed by a Wake service at 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at 10:30 AM. All services will be at the Chapel of the Women of the New Covenant, Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Wichita Center, 1165 Southwest Blvd., Wichita, KS 67213. Interment will be at the Community Cemetery of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Retirement Fund for Sisters at 1165 Southwest Blvd., Wichita, KS 67213.
