Willis graduated from Otis High School in 1950 and attended multiple different colleges before joining the Air Force. After his service, he moved to Wichita, Kansas where he worked at Boeing and retired from there in 1992. During his time at Boeing, he met his wife, Leona. They married in 1960 and had one daughter.
In his free time, Willis loved being with his family and was an avid golfer. In his later years, he enjoyed spending time at the golf course club house playing cards with his buddies. He was a devoted Wichita State Basketball fan, and a long time season ticket holder who supported the team for many years.
Willis was preceded in death by: his parents, Emelia and Benjamin Muth; brother, Lawrence Muth, and son-in-law, Steven Taylor.
He is survived by: his wife, Leona Muth; daughter, Teri Taylor; grandchildren: Stephanie (Eric) Eldridge, Brian Taylor, Ashton (Tyler) Palmore; great-grandsons, Landon and Bennett Eldridge; great-granddaughter, Mayson Palmore; and many family members and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 West Highway 54, Wichita, Kansas 67209 at 1:00 PM with a Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in The Garden of Freedom.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Willis's honor with: Wichita Junior Golf Foundation.
