Wyanetta M. (McGlachlin) Evans, age 95, Lifelong Catholic, wife, aunt and friend to all passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at Ascension Living, Via Christi Village Wichita, KS. She was born December 14, 1929 to William and Margaret (Reilman) McGlachlin in Newton, KS. She was the oldest of 4 children.
Wyanetta married the love of her life, Jake Evans on May 7, 1949 in Newton, KS. They didn't have any children but were the beloved aunt and uncle to many nieces and nephews. Wyanetta worked as a bookkeeper and retired from Dondlinger Construction. Upon their retirement they moved to Toronto Kansas. They eventually became snowbirds going to Yuma, Arizona for the winters.
Wyanetta was a true joy to anyone who was blessed to meet her. She was always positive and lived life to the fullest.
Wyanett was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jake, brothers Donald and Richard McGlachlin, sister Janice Born, brother-in-law Alban Born, and several brother and sister-in-laws on her husbands side of the family. She is survived by her sister-in-law Margie McGlachlin and several nieces and nephews.
A visitation with family present will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Devorss Flanagan-Hunt Mortuary, 201 South Hydraulic, Wichita, KS 67211.
A rosary will be held at 9:30 AM, prior to the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM, on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at Ascension Living Via Christi Village located at 3636 N Ridge Road, Wichita, KS 67205. She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jake, at Calvary Cemetery, Wichita, KS.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association or American Cancer Society.
