Arna Feiser Phelps

She was born to the late William Jacob Feiser and Anna Russow, October 26, 1922, in Hampton, Va.

Arna graduated from Glen Allen High school in 1941, and received an AA teaching degree in Art History from El Camino College in 1965.

She married the late Lt. Col. Donald L Phelps in 1946, and they lived throughout the US and Europe as an Air Force family, eventually returning to Hampton Roads.

Prior to marriage, Arna was a draftsman for Ma Bell. Adored locally and around the world, she was crowned Miss USO Richmond in 1944.

She was an active member of the Air Force Retired Officer's Wives Association. In her later years, Arna enjoyed volunteering at the Langley Air Force Base hospital. The life of the party, she had many admirers, and enjoyed dancing and traveling around the world.

Arna is survived by two children: Arna Majcher of Williamsburg, VA; and Donald Phelps of Huntsville, AL. She is also survived by her Cousin Nincy King, and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the national Alzheimer's Association.

She will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery at a date yet to be determined.
