Born January 6, 1974 in Hampton, VA, Chad attended Christopher Newport University after graduating from York High School. An avid golfer, Chad was recognized with All-Peninsula honors in high school, and continued to play golf with the CNU golf team. He and his father once won the Tommy Galloway Father-Son Golf Tournament, and in 1999, he won the Hampton Amateur Golf Tournament.
Chad loved to travel, and worked in sales for both Wyndham and Hilton Grand Vacations.
He will be missed by his mother, Sandra Briggs; stepfather, Ron Briggs; sister, Kim Yarema (Jason); and nephews, Chase and Liam. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Houdashell.
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 12 at Peninsula Memorial Park, 12750 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Virginia. A Celebration of Life Service at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, will follow at 4:00 PM that evening.
