Christopher Eugene Evers

Christopher Eugene Evers, 46, passed away on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Sentara Williamsburg due to complications arising from the Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Christopher was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on May 30, 1977 to Nicholas Evers and Beverly (Heitfeld) Evers. On July 20, 2008, he married the love of his life, Jessica Neejer Allen. This amazing couple were blessed with three beautiful children, namely, Emily, Nicholas, and Claire. Christopher is survived by his wife and children, his parents, father-in-law, Clyde Ferguson (Diana), mother-in-law, Patricia Neejer (David); sisters, Nicole Wagner (John) and Rebecca Marx (Shaun); sister-in-law, Denise Allen; brother-in-law, John Ferguson, and numerous other beloved family and friends.

Christopher was a 1995 graduate of Menchville High School in Newport News. He worked in various service-oriented positions before being hired as Purchase Service Manager at the Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg where he was employed for 18 years.

Christopher was fiercely loyal and loved by many. He was an avid reader like his mom, with R.A. Salvatore being one of his favorite authors. He enjoyed the challenges of chess, as well the games Dungeons and Dragons and Risk, which he took great joy in teaching to his children. He spent most weekends cheering his children on at the soccer fields. He enjoyed watching movies with his family and was particularly fond of the Star Wars franchise. Christopher was an avid fan of Ohio sports and followed the ups and downs of the Cincinnati Bengals and Reds, and The Ohio State football team.

A visitation will take place on Friday, February 9, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you consider a donation to the Alpha-1 Foundation at alpha1.org or to a charity of your choice.
