During the evening of 12 April, 2022, Faye Adams Ward, much loved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, departed these earthly bounds lying in bed with her daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren hugging and holding her as she drew her last breath and appeared in the presence of Jesus at the throne of God, joining husband Leo and a host of loved ones in Heaven.
No doubt Saint Peter said, "Faye, your love is shining, you passed the test, now you find the excellence you searched for East and West."
Little doubt Faye asked God, "might it not have been better for a week to have 8 instead of 7, that way we could busy ourselves even more so before we get to Heaven?"
A strong work ethic, dedicated to career, as a mom and grandmother, always ready to help.
Yes, I will come babysit for my darling girls, but she also found time for activity aswirl - a final touch to better arrange the flowers, organize the cabinets and vacuum the floor,
Look, that painting is a bit askew and I am sure you will agree, the couch looks better by the door.
She could not sit still, there is so much to do. You, however, have been idle, you must join me too. Let's walk the dogs and go get the mail, walk a step faster, don't be a snail.
She loved to shop and compare prices: purchase the five best bargains found this day, return four of them tomorrow, she didn't need them anyway.
Anyone could count on her in a pinch her generosity and support would not flinch.
Faye shared the warmth of love with Leo, her husband of over 60 years, she was devoted to her girls, Connie, Tammy and Kathy, their children and children's children - also her brother Ray, his family and many friends.
We cannot well express, our love and appreciation for all of her best; she spoiled her grandchildren, candy, hugs and much zest. When faced with medical adversity, never a complaint, faith in God and the Saints.
We collectively are here on Earth for such a short time, I can say we enjoyed a large portion of laughs and love.
Faye asked the minister, what happens when we pass, he snapped his fingers and said you will be with Jesus that fast.
Although we will miss her being with us, our reunion is just beyond a few sunrises, in that we trust God no doubt will smile and say; "Welcome, it is time for overdue rest. You have done well on Earth, I would say, you have done your best!"
Faye is survived by Connie and Pete Henderson, Tammy and Edward Davis, and Kathy and Sonny Hudson, seven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Crosswalk Church, Norge, 7575 Richmond Rd, Williamsburg, VA, on Monday 18 April at 11 am followed by a celebration of life hosted by Connie and Pete Henderson at 400 Angus Lane, Williamsburg.
For those who desire in lieu of flowers, donate to Crosswalk.CC/give for His great work. Condolences may be also be shared at www.nelsenwilliamsburg.com.
