August 30th, 2021, at the age of 77. Fred was born
November 29, 1943 in Rome, NY to the late Genevieve
and Fredrick H. Pfeiffer. Growing up, he was lovingly
known as “Fritz” by his siblings. He is predeceased by his
wife, Carolyn Elizabeth Pfeiffer; and half-sisters Martha
Klaisle and Marilyn Sislo.
Fred graduated from the State University of New York at
Oswego and worked for many years in retail
management before purchasing and operating his own
convenience store, “Fred’s Oasis” in Connecticut, before
retiring to live closer to his daughter in Virginia.
His two grandsons were his world. He was also an avid
bridge player, gardener, Stock Market enthusiast, and
devoted Alabama Crimson Tide and NY Yankees fan.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Laura Mellott (Erick);
grandsons Noah and Chase; sisters Donna Pfeiffer and
Charlene Walsh; and brother, Kurt Pfeiffer.
Services will be private. His ashes will be scattered at a
later date in Upstate New York to be with his wife.
