Gayle Jones Riddick

Gayle is survived by her husband, George Riddick; her two daughters, Georgia Riddick and Gina Dubuisson (Paul); and her two grandchildren, Claire Dubuisson Humphries (Will) and Will Dubuisson; as well as many cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Earline Jones and her brother, Ronnie Jones.

Gayle was born in Ponzer, NC on 11/30/35. She and George married on 12/27/55 and she began her career as a Navy wife, settling primarily in Norfolk, VA and Springfield, VA. Gayle received her Associate degree in Accounting from Northern Virginia Community College and spent many years working as an accountant. After retirement, she and George moved to Williamsburg which she enjoyed calling home for 30 years.

Gayle had many interests and talents. One of her favorite things to do was to write memories of all the trips she and George were able to take. With her unique sense of humor, these stories were hilarious. She loved playing bridge with her many friends and neighbors.

In 2018, Gayle and George moved to Patriot’s Colony in Williamsburg where they found a welcoming community. In 2021, Gayle began a period of declining health and moved to the Convalescent Center at Patriot’s Colony. Her family would like to thank the wonderful staff there for the excellent and compassionate care they showed to Gayle.

Gayle will be interred at the VA Cemetery in Suffolk, VA at a later date.
