ROSWELL - Jeanne (née Binns) Gale died on Tuesday, June 21 from a fall in her home. Jeanne was born in Richmond, Virginia on May 10, 1932 to Horace and Edna Binns. She graduated from John Marshall High School where she met her soulmate and future husband, (the late) Jack Gale. She and Jack were married in June 1952. As the wife of an Air Force pilot, Jeanne moved all over the world. From the east coast to the west coast of the United States, to Europe and the far east, she made lifelong friends all over the world. When Jack retired from the Air Force in 1981, they moved to Fountain Valley, California where Jack went to work for Northrop. While in California, Jeanne started playing tennis and tennis became a lifelong passion of hers. Jeanne and Jack move back to Williamsburg in 1991 to retire and enjoy the rest of their lives. Jack and Jeanne became members of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church. As members, Jack joined the Lions Club and Jeanne became a member of the Lady Lions. The kindness and love Jeanne showed to all people, especially to her friends and family, was what defined her throughout her life. Always having a smile on her face, and thinking of others before ever thinking of herself, were the endearing qualities that made Jeanne a queen to her husband, an adored and cherished mother to her sons, a supportive mother to her two daughter-in-laws, a loving sister and daughter, a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother, and an example to others of what a good friend really means. It will be difficult to ever find a person that had the love in her heart and the kindness for others like Jeanne. She is survived by her two sons, Steven (wife, Kathryn) and Michael (Kathleen), her two sisters Francis Anne Robins and Ella Jesse, along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 25 at 2 PM at the Williamsburg United Methodist Church on Jamestown Road. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make a contribution to the Hospice House of Williamsburg at 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
