John Howard Coleman III

John was born on March 7, 1960 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to John and Jean Coleman. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 22 years. After retiring John enjoyed being on the water while working 13 years at 3rd Port Harbor Master Ft. Eustis, VA. In his spare time, he was an avid reader, enjoyed making memories with his family, fishing, and hiking trails. He was a dedicated lifetime Green Bay Packer fan. John enjoyed a nice bowl of chili with an ice cold beer to watch the game. John was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather.

John is predeceased by his father John H. Coleman Jr and mother Jean Coleman.

He is survived by his wife Helen Coleman of 30 years. They were married in Virginia Beach, VA.

John is lovingly remembered by Emily Coleman (daughter), Kaitlyn Coleman (daughter), Olivia Coleman (daughter), Mariah Taylor (daughter), Jakaree Taylor (son-in-law), Jeremyah Robinson (grandson), Jayden Taylor (grandson), Jordan Taylor (grandson), Carmello Robinson (grandson), Skylar Taylor (granddaughter), AJ Coleman (brother), Paul Coleman (brother), Pete Coleman (brother), Anne Drow (sister), Mary Stankowski (sister), and Rachel Werner (sister).

The celebration of life will be held at Nelsen’s Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188 on December 21, 2020 at 12:00 pm followed by an honor guard burial at Albert G. Horton Jr Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, VA on December 22, 2020 at 12:00 pm. A link to view the service live will be available to those who wish to be a part of this day. A reception will take place at the Coleman’s residence on December 21, 2020 at 3:00pm.
