Dear Pettit Family, Karen was an awesome friend and co-worker...I will cherish the memories we shared for ever...I thank the Lord for ensuring our paths crossed.  We laughed... we cried... we argued...but in the end we loved each other !!  May you find peace in knowing she is in a far far better place

To Karen's Family, I wanted to express my condolences and deepest sympathy at your loss.  I worked with Karen at Fort Monroe and have wonderful memories of her laughter and gentle spirit. She was such a kind and giving person and she will be missed.  May God comfort you in your time of sorrow.

To The Pettit Family, In August 2011, I met Karen at Fort Monroe, Virginia.  That same month, we moved to Fort Eustis, Virignia.  I worked with Karen until her June 2012 retirement and enjoyed working with her.

To the Pettit Family,

I would like to thank you for letting us share Karen with you.  She was truly a great joy to be around and work with.

Truly the sweetest woman I have ever met, I only knew her for 8 months but she touched a place in my heart and will live on there forever.  I will always cherish the advice she gave me and the laughs even more.  I pray for peace in your loss of Karen..

I'm so sorry to hear of Karen's passing.  We worked together at Fort Monroe and she was truly a sweetheart.  She will definitely be missed.

To Karen Pettit's family; For many years Karen sat across from me at work. It was difficult when she told me she was retiring as we would not get to laugh about silly things we did at home or work. It is even more difficult to know that her journey here is finished and she has moved on. Weeping may endure for some time but know that her joy is complete. May God give you peace in your season of sorrow!
