Leigh is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Roy; her son, Robert Scott; her sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and Boyd Soles; and her brother and sister-in-law, B.H. and Laura Anne Goodrich.
She is survived by her son, David Goodrich Massengill; her daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Massengill and Linda Massengill; and four grandchildren, Mitchell, Marlee, Carter and Kayleigh.
Leigh graduated from Mary Washington College in 1957. After graduating, she taught elementary school and married Roy in 1959. Since her move to Williamsburg in 1989, Leigh was an active member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church and her community. She devoted time to Colonial Williamsburg, most notably serving as a dedicated volunteer at the Tucker House for many years.
A celebration of Leigh’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at Williamsburg Presbyterian Church.
