Lorna Maye Burgraff

Lorna Maye (Brenton) Burgraff, age 97, passed away at Morningside Retirement Community, Williamsburg, VA on December 2, 2018. She was born in Minburn, Iowa on February 13, 1921, one of two children of Harry LaVerne Brenton and Vera Mae (Hawbaker) Brenton. Lorna was very musically inclined and loved to sing and play the piano. She had a beautiful soprano voice and was an accomplished soloist in several of her churches' choirs and at many other gatherings over the years. She also supported the arts, especially symphonic orchestras. She married the love of her life, Robert Lowell Burgraff in 1942. They were married over 69 years until his passing in 2012. They were the loving parents of their only child, Craig. Lorna and Bob lived in Iowa, Michigan and Pennsylvania during his career. He retired as a Vice President of Mack Trucks Inc., in Allentown, PA. They moved to Florida in retirement and lived there until they relocated closer to their son and daughter-in-law in 2008. Bob and Lorna were proud to be a military family with Bob achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve after service as a Major in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Lorna is survived by her son, Craig R. Burgraff and his wife, Diane M. Burgraff of Williamsburg, VA as well as nephews, nieces and cousins. Services will be private and interment will be in Camp Hill, PA at the convenience of the family.
