Louis attended the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina, joining Beta Sigma Phi while there. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Methodist Church, VFW Post 4639 Ladies’Auxiliary, and a crafter with numerous hobbies, such as repairing antique dolls, quilting with the Norge Hall Ladies, sewing, crocheting and knitting.
Survivors include three sons, Everett Tyler Johnston, Richard Louis Johnston (Connie), and Andrew S. Johnston (Maria); daughter, Judy A. Wade (Micheal Erskine); grandchildren, William Ray Wade, Jr., Staton Lee Wade, Everett Rhodes Johnston, Andrew Tyler Johnston, Dillion Bradley Johnston, and Bradon Conner Johnston; great-grandchildren, Madison & Ella Wade, Severe, Avery and Genevieve Smith, Tyler and Lilly Johnston.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2019 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia beginning at 3:00pm.
