"I enjoy watching people's faces when they see a painting for the first time. It seems to me that an artist's work can only give real pleasure to those in whom it arouses an awareness of beauty similar to their own perception. Response to artwork is such a personal thing. I am delighted when my work can transport you to another place or time, or lead you to recall a certain feeling - perhaps the memory of a first love or the warmth of a spring day."
