Milton Louis Wright

Milton L "Coolu" Wright, was born September 14, 1955 in Williamsburg, Virginia. He was born the son of Harry B. and Mrs. Ethel Wright and departed this life on earth for his heavenly home on December 28, 2025. He was raised in the Grove Community area educated in Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and graduated from James Blair High School.

He was a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church at an early age and joined the United States Air Force and was a mechanic. After leaving the military service, he returned to the Williamsburg area and attended ECPI. He worked in construction for many years, the most lengthy having been with his friend, Morgan Ratcliffe for Busch Construction. Coolu enjoyed football and was a New Orleans Saints fan. He watched baseball and looked forward to the World Series. He loved night fishing with his friends.

Coolu was joined in matrimony in 2011 to the former Kimberlyn Gaines. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry B Wright; his mother, Ethel Mae Wright; his brothers, Harry B. Wright, Jr. "Beep" and Wilbert "Earl" Wright. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Kimberlyn Wright; his sisters, Elsie Wright, Rita Wright-King (Kenneth) and Wanda Wright; and his brothers, Douglas Wright (Joyce), Robert Wright and David Wright (Christine); his daughter, Sherrell Lewis; his steps sons, Adrien Gaines and Andre Gaines; three grandchildren, one great grandchild, nieces, nephews and cousins. Coolu was a great friend to all who knew him and had an infectious smile.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Nelsen Funeral Home, Williamsburg, Virginia.
