Hello,

Mr.  Horvath was my cooperative education teacher in Jamestown high school.  I'm saddened to have learned of his death and offer my condolences. Growing up I did not have a strong father figure in my life to teach and mentor me on how to be an adult. I used to visit Mr.  Horvath in his office at random times in his office where we would talk about various things. I looked up to him even today. He taught me how to do taxes, the importance of how to finance money, the importance of following current events, and was just an over all positive influence in my life. I even remember him selling me a massive television he no longer wanted.  If I could have chosen a father he would have been my first pick.  Again, my condolences 🙏 

I just found out today about Bobby ( thats what we called him in Bayside in the late 60's Early 70's). We spent a lot of time together playing Baseball, Basketball, at PS 31 across the street from where he lived at the time. Some great memories. We also used to take the bus to flushing to the YMCA. My favorite years of my life. We were young  and had some good times.  My heart is broken over this. We were close friends at the time, but as life happens we went to college,  Got Married and went on with our lives. My condolences to his family, and friends and to Mike his brother.  May Bobby rest in peace. He and his family were a big part of my life as a teen. God bless him.

I was one of Robert's students in his Self Defense class and his Judo class at William and Mary.  I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing.  He was a great instructor and story-teller, with a wonderful sense of humor and positive outlook.  I continue to apply his advice and teachings in my life.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

This man has to be my favorite teacher I had in high school. He was always so supportive and pushed me to be a better person. I was in a business class he was teaching CTE. Many things I know now come from him teaching me. He will be truly missed forever.

Finding this out today has me in such shock I cannot even think of anything to say other than a wonderful person has left us.

I knew Robert first as a judo and self-defense instructor at William & Mary back in the late 1980's;  and later, as a man dedicated to helping students find internships and career paths.  He was always kind, and his spirit was pure. He was a blessing to this world, and that's not a phrase I use often or lightly.  To this day, I remember some of the stories he told us in self-defense class!  I will remember him with a smile, and hope to carry forward his example of kindness and service.

While I was never able to meet Robert in person, his son Tyler spoke of him often, and his words were always filled with love and admiration.  May you all be strong in the days ahead.  My thoughts are with you.

I was one of Robert's students in a self defense class and I was always struck by his zest for life and incredible story telling skills. The William and Mary community will deeply miss such an incredible teacher. I am so sorry for your loss and hold you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Robert at The College of William & Mary for 10 years. Robert was one of a kind! He loved teaching and the students loved him. We will miss him dearly.

Encouragement to the Horvath family. It was a pleasure and a blessing to talk to Robert over the phone several months ago. He was upbeat and optimistic about life. I wish his family many blessings and comfort at this time. I will continue to pray for you.

I am so sorry for the family's loss.  I worked with Robert at ESH in the school system several years ago.  We had a fantastic team of all women and one man.  Robert was the best. We all have such great memories of Robert. Love & Prayers.

As parents of one of Mr. Horvath's students from the class of 2005, we want to express our very sincerest condolences. Mr. Horvath was one of Scott's favorite teachers and will always hold a special place in our hearts. We're praying for you in your huge loss. May the Lord comfort you now and always.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am glad that I got the chance to talk to him at my sister Peggy wedding. It is a lovely memory.

I, too, had the pleasure of working with Bob at Jamestown High School.  Always upbeat, working for the betterment of his students.  Bob talked of his family often, please know he loved you all very much!
I have moved from Williamsburg and will not be able to attend the service today. Thoughts and prayers to the family.

What a great privilege in life to have known Robert. He was a role model to help others and was always their as a close friend. My heart is sad today but know deep down Robert has left his legacy of awesomeness with each one of us.

I worked with Bob at ESH years ago when we had a school there. He was wonderful with our very challenging population of young people.
I worked with him again, 20+ years later when he was helping students get real work experience. 
He was a great guy;a strong and tireless advocate for those he served. Creative and realistic, which is exactly what it takes to do the work he did.
My heart goes out to those who loved him best.
He was special and I am grateful that our paths crossed doing work that had such meaning for us both; enhancing lives to the best of our abilities!  And a great sense of humor is always a plus!
RIP Bob.

It was an honor to have assisted Mr. Horvath during my senior year. He touched so many lives, including mine. The kids love and miss him dearly, as he was the one person they could always look towards for guidance. Mr. Horvath taught me to always follow my dreams and to never let anything hold me back from taking every opportunity in life.

I  had the pleasure of working with Robert while serving on the Wmbg Chamber Education Committee. He will be remembered for his humor, and dedication to students. My condolences to his family.

So sorry to hear about your loss.  You know that God and Jesus are in the best position to comfort us when we lose a loved one in death.

I'm so sorry to hear of Robert's passing.  He was a great guy--I so enjoyed collaborating him back in his days at Lafayette.  May God bring peace to his friends and family during this difficult time.

Robert and I shared a classroom,enjoyed 'lunch and movie' where he introduced me to Bond films, and laughter over a happy hour beer. He will be missed.

My Cousin Robert....When we truly believe in God, we know there is a whole new life after we leave this one.  A life with no pain, total peace and being reunited with those who had gone before us. Those we missed dearly while we were here...I know this is where you are...

It was wonderful having you back in our lives after such a long time.  Families are a strange thing....but our reunion with you was not only heartwarming it brought back a sense of family-the extended family.  Thank you so much to coming to my wedding, and Steve remembers meeting you and Trish and that makes me very happy.  I'm lucky that I have you and Trish dancing together captured on my wedding video.  But more importantly, I'll hold that memory near and dear to my heart forever.  Be in an everlasting peace Robert.  I'll miss you.

We will cherish our memories of 25 years of Horvath fun! Robert was one of a kind. We love you and Tyler and will see you both shortly.
