IN THE CARE OF

Nelsen Williamsburg

Sue Daily Loveless passed away on June 30, 2022. Born on January 13, 1938 in Washington D.C., she grew up in Georgetown and Southern Maryland before marrying and relocating to Virginia. After a 23-year career with the American Automobile Association (AAA) in Falls Church, Virginia and Heathrow, Florida, she retired and moved to Williamsburg in 2001. More than anything, Sue loved and enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends, playing cards and board games, strolling in Colonial Williamsburg, perusing antique stores, or just visiting with a cup of tea. From a young age she sewed and crocheted, making baby caps and lap blankets for hospital patients in recent years. She enjoyed vacations to the Outer Banks, reading, dining out, writing, and genealogy research. She traveled to Ireland five times and always felt at home. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Edward Loveless; and mother Sadie (Sally) Burke Daily. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathy Loveless Coppinger, and Amy Loveless Ritchie; sons-in-law, James Coppinger and Kevin Ritchie; father, Ralph M. Daily; her beloved grandchildren, Sarah Ritchie Webb (Benjamin), Amanda Ritchie, John Coppinger (Ashley), and Kimberly Davis (Bill); great-granddaughter, Addelyn Davis; sister, Joan Bell (Joseph); brother, Gary Perry (Karen); nieces, nephews and their families; numerous cousins; and her dear friend Ellwood M. Giarth. Please join our family and friends as we gather to celebrate the life of Sue Daily Loveless. Our mother left us too soon on June 30, 2022, but her love and memories live on. Mom/Sue was the center of our family, the matriarch, the guide, the protector. She loved her family, her friends, Teddy Bears, walking on the beach, Jimmy Buffet, hot tea, traveling, reading, crocheting, all things Irish, and genealogy. After visiting Ireland five times, her greatest wish was to live there, so St. Patrick’s Day Weekend seems the perfect time to honor her. Sue’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Colony Clubhouse, 125 Pasbehegh Drive, in Williamsburg, VA. We look forward to sharing stories, photos, music and a Guinness/Irish Mist or two. Please bring any photos or mementos that remind you of her to share with others. If you'd like to send us a note or photo ahead of time to include in our memory book, please send to [email protected]. Please let us know if you plan to join us on March 18th. Kindest regards, Kathy Coppinger 757.634.7205 and Amy Ritchie 757.903.9426 Memorial contributions may be made to the Avalon Center, https://www.avaloncenter.org/donate, or the Heritage Humane Society, 430 Waller Mill Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185.
