
He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on September 12, 1937 and was preceded in death by his parents, Owen and Margaret O'Leary, and sister, Noreen Kozak.
Thomas received his Bachelor of Science from St. Peter’s College in Jersey City, New Jersey. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked for ExxonMobil as a fire protection engineer.
Thomas enjoyed reading, walking the dog, and following the New York Yankees. He was also interested in Morgan horse breeding and exhibitions. Here in Williamsburg, he was a member of St. Bede Catholic Church.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Eileen J. O'Leary; son, Patrick O. O'Leary (Beth); grandchildren, Andrew Thomas O'Leary and Kathryn Elizabeth O'Leary; siblings, Margaret O'Leary, Ellen O'Leary, and Marry Anne Perkins; and his beloved dogs, Emily and Finnigan.
A funeral mass for Thomas will be held Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at National Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham, 520 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
