

William E. Adams, Sr., of Williamsburg, passed away on September 13, 2015 at the age of 82. Born in Richmond, VA, to the late Erlon H. Adams and Ocie B. Adams, he is also preceded in death by his son, Willie Adams, and his best buddy, Barney.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and retired from the civil service in Ft. Eustis. He was a longtime member of James River Baptist Church and had served as past Pastor and Director at the Bread of Life Book House in Toano, VA.
William is survived by his wife, Lois R. Adams; daughter, Sharon L. Adams; daughter-in-law, Dawn Adams; four grandchildren, Erin Chaney, Rebecca Desper, Laura Dear, and Erlie Adams; nine great-granddaughters and one great-great-grandson.
A visitation will take place on Thursday, September 17 at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Rd., Williamsburg, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. A service officiated by Pastor Scott Salsman will be held on Friday, September 18 at James River Baptist Church, 4931 Centerville Rd., Williamsburg, beginning at 11:00am, with burial at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
