

Barbara Lee Bradley, age 76, of Williamston, went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 20, 2023 after a three-year battle with ALS. Barbara was born November 1, 1946, in Brown City, MI, to Leroy and Loreta (Jolley) Bradley of Melvin.
Barbara graduated from Yale High School in 1964. She earned an associate degree in 1967 from Port Huron Junior College and a bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in 1970. Barbara went to achieve a master's degree in education from Michigan State University in 1982, as well as a second master's degree in library science from Central Michigan University in 1990. Barbara worked for Durand Area Schools from 1969 to 2008, as a social studies teacher and then as a media specialist. Barbara made many close friends during her years at Durand.
Barbara was a loyal MSU fan and enjoyed watching MSU football and basketball games. Anyone who knew Barbara knew she had a competitive spirit when cheering at sporting events, making watching the game in person, or at home, a fun time. Barbara had an infectious laugh that would bring a smile to anyone who heard it. She enjoyed traveling, visiting more than 7 countries, and also enjoyed spending time with friends, playing cards, and reading. Our country's military men and women were close to her heart. She supported such organizations as Paralyzed Veterans of America, Wounded Warrior Project, and The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall. Most notably, Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother, and her family was her greatest joy. She was a wonderful loving grandmother, caring for her three grandchildren throughout their childhood, forming a lifelong bond.
Barbara impacted so many lives throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Loreta Bradley as well as her brothers, Clyde and Sid Bradley. Barbara is survived by her only child, Jana , and son-in-law, Alex Van Wert; her three loving grandchildren, Logan, Helaina, and Emmalyn; sisters-in-law, Mary Lou Bradley and Bonnie Bradley; nieces and nephews, Michele (Paul) Quader, Leanne VanBuskirk, Ty Bradley, Katrina Brywig, and Tod Bradley; ten great-nieces and nephews; and her close childhood friend, Fran Beers.
A visitation for Barbara will be held 6-8PM on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Williamston Chapel, 205 E. Middle St., Williamston, MI 48895. A funeral service will be held 11AM on Thursday, April 27, 2023, with a luncheon immediately following the service, at Family Life Wesleyan Church, 3720 Rowley Rd., Williamston, MI 48895. A graveside service will take place 11AM on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Croswell Cemetery, 201-299 S. Black River Rd., Croswell, MI 48422.
Memorial contributions in Barbara's honor may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
