

Dean graduated from Williamston High School in 1986. He was a State Champion Wrestler for two years. He then went on to get his PhD from Florida Atlantic University.
He married his long-time forever friend, Barbara Abbett. They had known each other for 42 years, and had known each other since they were 12 years old. They were joined in marriage in 2010.
Dean was known for his love of helping other people, he spent time with helping those in Haiti. He also had a huge love of sports and enjoyed coaching wrestling and helping those that achieved the recent Williamston State Wrestling Championship!
He is preceded in passing by his mother Patricia Josephine (Blank) Monette.
Dean is survived by his loving wife Barbara (Abbett) Monette; his step-son Jake; Father Donald Monette; his brothers Dan (Sheryl) Monette and Doug (Julie) Monette; sisters Kelly (Brian) Swette and Lynn (Greg) Oshonck; Mother-in-law Jackie Abbett; nephews Andrew Abbett and Eric Abbett; Brother-in-law Bill (Aimee) Abbett; and several aunts, cousins, and many others who loved him.
A visitation for Dean will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 East Middle Street, Williamston, MI 48895. A visitation will occur Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Mary Catholic Church, 157 High St., Williamston, MI 48895 followed by a funeral mass beginning at 11:00AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to St Mary Catholic Church, 157 High St. Williamston, MI 48895 in honor of Dean Monette for Haiti.
