Jim was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Barbara, Alice and Dorothy; and brothers Donald and Max.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Barbara; daughters, Debora (David) Shipman, Susan (Mike) Koger; sons, Steven (Leighann) Allen, David (Leslie) Allen; grandchildren, Andrew (Lauren) Sanborn, Brian Sanborn, Kelly (Michael) McCahill, Keith McAllister, Emily Allen, Sydney Allen, Hayden Allen, Dillon Allen; great-grandchildren, Edith Sanborn and Parker McCahill.
Jim was born and raised in Williamston, where he spent his entire life and raised his family. He owned his own construction company and was a lifelong member of Crossroads United Methodist Church. Jim was an active member of the community where he was known for his generosity, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand.
In his spare time, Jim loved the outdoors, woodworking, and spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 19 at Crossroads United Methodist Church, 5491 Zimmer Road, Williamston, Michigan 48895. There will be a visitation beginning at 11:00 am and continuing until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
