Vera (Wysocki) Wrobel of Okemos passed away peacefully on Friday, November 30, 2018. She was born May 13, 1921 in Midway, Pennsylvania to Paul and Anna (Bishkoff) Wysocki, and graduated from Hamtramck High School. For many years she was a resident of Warren, Michigan.
Vera is preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Stanley Wrobel.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Amy (Tom) Blair and Grace (Jonel) Neda; dear friends, Jimi and Vicki Gugan, Ana Neda, and Linda Mulder.
A longtime employee of Michigan Bell, Vera also enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband. A hobby gambler, Las Vegas was a favorite destination, as was Arizona, where she and Stanley searched for the Lost Dutchman mine. Church dinners were another popular attraction along their travels. She loved to spend a day at the races, whether it was horses, dogs, or jai alai. She could often be found playing a game of dominoes or trying her luck with the slots at any of her favorite casinos, Soaring Eagle, Motor City, or Turtle Creek.
Vera was always fond of animals, especially dogs, and often donated to animal welfare causes.
She lived long and prospered.
Memorial contributions can be made to Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 West Grand River Ave, Lansing, Michigan 48906. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
