Christine Bowen Mangum

Mrs. Mangum was born in Nashville on May 12,1927 daughter

of the late Alvin and Bertha Nelms Bowen. A 1948 graduate of E.C.T.C. she taught school in Martin County for 32 years.

and was a member of 'Delta Kappa Gamma Beta Upsilon Chapter; Memorial Baptist Church; adult choir and later the Senior Saints Choir. For many years she did the music for Vacation Bible School and was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class. She was also the first representative from Martin County to the N.C. Senior Legislature where she served seven years.

Surviving are two sons, Steve Mangum of Cary and Jeffery Mangum of Fuquay Varina; daughter Karen Mangum Allen of Johns Creek, Georgia; brother Charles Bowen of Kinston; five grand children Kevin, Brian and T J Mangum, Christina Roughton and Alexa Mangum.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Biggs Funeral Home.
