

Mrs. Drummond was born March 17, 1931, in Washington, N.C. to the late Ivy Albert Alligood and Dora Jefferson Alligood. She was a member of Oak City Christian Church where she has served as a choir member, Sunday school teacher and member of the Christian Women's Fellowship. She was retired from Carolina Telephone Company with 43 years of service.
She was married to Thomas Bennett, May 25, 1958, for 30 years, and he preceded her in death Dec. 18, 1988. She later married Francis Bain Drummond, Sept. 17, 1995, who lives in Emporia, Va.
Also preceding her in death, is her sisters, Hattie Alligood Woolard and Evelyn Alligood, and brothher-in-Iaw, William R. Deans.
Survivors are two sons, Todd Bennett and wife, Darlene, of Harrellsville, and Brent Bennett and wife, Ronda, of Winterville; sister, Olive Alligood Deans of Washington, N.C.; brother, Lane Alligood and wife, Tippy, of Washington; stepsons, Bain Drummond of Emporia, Va. and Gary Drummond of Atlanta; brothers-in-law, Arvie D. Woolard of Fayetteville and Clarence G. Alligood of Washington, N.C.
The visitation will be tonight at Oak City Chrisstian Church from 6-8. The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at the church with Rev. Hugh Mizelle and the Rev. Morgan Daughety officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak City Cemetery.
