Hubert Ward Hollis

Hubert Ward Hollis, 83, died Sunday, July 7 2013 at the Three River Nursing Home in Winsor, NC. Hubert was born in Martin County July 30, 1929 to the late Henry and LiIIian Taylor Hollis. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. After the Navy, he joined the National Guard and served l-n the Army during the Korean War. He was a retired inspector with the Farmers Home Administration, He was a member of Macedonia Christian Church, and he also held membership with Skewarkee Masonic Lodge, 32nd degree Mason and Martin County Shriners CIub, Survivors are his sister Diane Wells. niece HoIIy Pureza, great-niece MacKinley Pureza and great-nephew Cameron Pureza, all of Elizabeth City; long-time companion, Jeanette Ruffin, her son Johnnie Ruffin of Williamston and her grandchildren Joe and Tommy Ruffin; and his favorite four-legged friend Boo Boo.

Funeral service will he held Wednesday, July l0, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in Biggs Chapel with Minister Dolan Baker, Family will receive friends Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Biggs Funeral Home, 5:30 to 8:00 p.m, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
