James Thomas Gurganus

Mr. James Thomas Gurganus, 76 of Williamston, N.C.,went to be with his Lord on June 2, 2016. Tommy was born in Martin County on July 6, 1939, to his parents James Simon and Bettie Adams Gurganus.

Funeral services will be at 3:00P.M. Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Community Christian Church in Williamston.

Mr. Gurganus worked 30 years in Weights and Measures as an inspector at the Department of Agriculture. He was also a Deacon at Community Chapel Church in Williamston, N.C. Tommy was also a lover of word search puzzles.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darlene Brown Gurganus; daughters, Kecia Cowens of Williamston and Libby Hardison and husband, Rev. Jay Hardison of Jamesville; three grandchildren, Karlee Hardison and Kelsee Hardison of Jamesville, and Ginger Cowen on Williamston; 2 great grandchildren, Trevor James and Isaiah James of Williamston,N.C. Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.

In Lieu of flowers, the family request donations are made to the Church Library at Community Christian Church of Williamston.

Biggs Funeral Home of Williamston are in charge of arrangements.
