Mac Edwin Manning Sr.

Mac Edwin Manning Sr, 82, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The funeral service will be held Friday at 2:00 PM at First Christian Church with Rev Karen Kelly and Rev Jim Bussell officiating: burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mr Manning was born September 27, 1929 in Martin County, son of the late Elbert Nathaniel and Susan Virginia Peele Manning. He was retired from Harrison Oil Company where he had worked as a bookkeeper for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of the First Christian Church.

On November 23, 1955 he married Thelma Ward Manning who survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are a daughter Susan Manning of Williamston, sons Mac E Manning Jr of Greenville, and Dr Jim Manning of Chapel Hill, a sister Janice Browning of Nashville NC and 3 grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 7-8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home and other times at the residence 307 Lee St Williamston NC.
