Martha S. Simpson

Martha Steadman Simpson, 59, died Wednesday July 10, 2013 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. The memorial service will be held Saturday at 3:00 PM at Biggs Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Wilmoth officiating.

Martha was born in Martin County on May 20, 1954 daughter of the late Preston and Nellie Snow Steadman. She was a social worker with the Vidant Hospital in Washington and a member of the Macedonia Christian Charch. .Martha was a graduate of Atlantic Christian College and was a member of Sigma,Sigma,Sigma, Sorority. On January 10, 1986 she married Darrell Simpson who survives. Survivors in addition to her husband are sons Joe Simpson of Florida and Judson Simpson of Elizabeth City and a sister Judy Steadman of Stony Creek VA

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:30-3:00 PM at the funeral Home and other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
