Gertrude M. “Trudy” (nee Roarke) Bauer Entered into rest May 12, 2021 at age 91. Beloved wife of late Donald F. Bauer of 64 years: dear mother of Robert M. (Mary Jo) Bauer, MD, Brian J. (Marsha Thornhill, MD) Bauer, MD, Mary Beth “Betsy” (Peter C.) Eimer, Bonnie L. (Robert A.) Blum and William R. Bauer; loving and adored grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Gertrude and Hugh Roarke and sisters Janet Bouley and Jo Ann (Madeleva) Roarke. Trudy was born in Buffalo where she graduated from Holy Angels Academy and Bryant & Stratton College. Trudy was a past-recipient of the Volunteer of the Year award at the Theodore Roosevelt Inaugural National Historic Site, where she enjoyed many years working with dear friends. In addition to her many interests, Trudy was an avid quilter. Her love of sewing was apparent in the clothes and quilts that she made for her children and grandchildren. The family thanks all the wonderful staff at Brothers of Mercy Sacred Heart Home and Brothers of Mercy Rehab for their loving and compassionate care. No prior Visitation. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the University of Buffalo Newman Center, 495 Skinnerville Rd., Amherst Saturday May 22 at 10:00 AM. Flowers gratefully declined. I am very sorry for your loss. Trudy was a wonderful person and I know how you feel. I was hoping to see her soon in Canada when they open the boarder. We always went to the same mass and sat near her in church. I hoped 2021 would be better than 2020. My husband ( Bill) died 12/26/20.

Betsy and family, the deepest of condolences to you on the loss of your Mom. She had some tough years but I am sure she is happy with your Dad and the rest of their "gang" up there in Heaven. I came across this picture of our Moms at a Holy Angels graduation. Who knows, maybe they are really holy angels now!
