We are deeply saddened by the loss of Alice Oberyl Snagel, nee Fox, 95, loving wife and best friend of Glenn Snagel of 62 years; devoted mother of Allen (Bernadette), Emily (Larry), Barbara, Paul (Ruth) and Ruth (Neal); proud grandmother of Christopher, Erica (Mike), Ryann, Kyle, Adele and Luther and great-grandmother of Allyn. Her family also consisted of siblings Joe Fox, Virginia McCroy, Harley Fox and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice grew up in Xenia, Ohio and attended Perdue University. She enjoyed nature, traveling, reading, art and lunching at Prairie House. Alice worked for years as a librarian at the public library of Evanston, where she and her family lived for 30 years, after which she moved with Glenn to Grayslake. She was also a member of several organizations, including The Women’s Club of Evanston, The Historical Society and The Garden Club. She will be greatly missed and remembered forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to continue their mission of treating the disease Alice battled for much of her life. The family has decided to hold a private memorial service on Friday, December 27th, 2019 at Mount Emblem Cemetery, 520 E. Grand Ave, Elmhurst, IL.
