Antonina Fishman, nee Liskacheva, 96, beloved wife of the late Naum Fishman; devoted mother of Natalya Fishman (Isaak Zysman) and Irina Tomashevskaya; proud "Babushka" of Olga Tomashevskaya, Anna (Richmond) Ualat, and Viktor Zysman (Allyson); adored "Baba" of Cooper, Charlize, and Casey Ualat; cherished aunt to Natasha, Yury, and Vladimir Liskachev, Alex Fishman, and Svetlana Gringauz; dear friend and mentor to many. While working as a forced laborer in Nazi Germany during World War II, Antonina met her beloved late husband Naum. They married after the war and celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary shortly before his death. Naum and Antonina went on to have two daughters, three grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Antonina was a nature lover who had a fondness for birds, trees, and plants. She was an avid gardener and a lover of reading and music. As a teacher, she touched many lives - students that she taught over 50 years ago still reached out to her in recent days. She will be greatly missed by friends, former students, and family. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 27th at 10:30 am at Ridgewood Memorial Park, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines IL, 60016. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Bird Conservancy, www.abcbirds.org. For further information - call Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home: 847-256-5700.
