OBITUARY

Harold Nelson Farber

21 April, 1936 – 11 April, 2026
IN THE CARE OF

Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home

Harold Nelson Farber, 89, of Skokie Illinois. Harold Farber was born in Chicago to Isadore and Mary Farber. Harold worked for over 40 years as a pharmacist, owning several pharmacies including Foster & Western Pharmacy and CalTouhy Pharmacy. Harold worked for many years with Dr. Diamond, of the Diamond Headache clinic, which was instrumental in new treatments for Migraine treatment. He worked with Dr. Diamond to get medications to people from all over the country.

Harold survived his beloved wife Deanne “Dubbie” Joyce Farber. Loving parent of children Scott & Wendy Farber, Lee & Debbie Farber, and Dale & Lee Furnish.

Adoring grandparent of grandchildren Dana & Jake Thompson, Zachary & Maria Farber, Dylan Farber, Danny Farber, Emily Galfield, Andrew (A.J.) Galfield, and Charlie Galfield. Step-Grandchildren - Alyssa & Anthony Cucitro, Justin Bragg, Ben Furnish, and Riley Furnish. Great Grandchild Spencer Bragg.

Harold loved to travel and enjoyed so many adventures. After the passing of our beloved mother Deanne, Harold enjoyed 20 years with his long time companion Claire Kole. He spent many years celebrating with all of her children and grandchildren and he loved them dearly. We lost Claire in 2019. Most recently, he spent years with companion Sharon Levison, who was so very caring in these last years of his life.

Harold will be missed by many friends and family.

Service information – We will be having a private family ceremony followed by a celebration of life this Spring. Details to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Robert & Ann H. Lurie Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago. Harold and Dubbie belonged for many years to a charity M.A.M.F, that raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Children’s Memorial and this was their passion. https://www.luriechildrens.org/en/ways-to-help/Ways-to-Give/
