Maxine Greenberg

Maxine (née Gerber) Greenberg, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13th at the age of 95. Married 68 years to Gary Greenberg z”l, they had three sons Dr. Craig (Lynne), Dr. Bruce (Shari) and Mark (Pily). Maxine is also survived by her nine grandchildren Aaron (Jenn), Dr. Jordan (Lauren), Mara (Alex), Shannon, Dr. Ian (Taylor), Joshua, Ari, Yael, and Miriam, as well as five great grandchildren. She was a beloved sister-in-law, aunt and cousin to many extended family members, including Bonnie, Susan and Jack. The family is grateful for the excellent care and attention she received at North Shore Place in Northbrook. She had two exceptional caregivers, Reymond and Paul, who provided outstanding care for her in her final days.

Maxine was a teacher in the Morton Grove and Niles school districts for over 35 years, an accomplishment she held in high regard. During her summers off, Maxine enjoyed gardening, tending to her beautiful flowers and vegetables all season long. She delighted in the many travels with her husband Gary. She enjoyed socializing and playing bridge with several circles of close friends. Her closest friendships were formed in grade school and were maintained throughout her entire life. She was a bright presence at many meaningful family events over the years, taking great joy in seeing her children and grandchildren grow and prosper. Her greatest love above all else was her family.
