Melanie Sue Portnoy Janulis passed away unexpectedly on December 13. Beloved daughter of the late Harold and Roslyn Portnoy, doting mother of Anton Janulis and completely besotted grandmother of Elio Janulis. Much loved and loving sister to Susan (Terence) Selby. Reunited in heaven with her late daughter Alana Janulis. She will be missed by her many dear cousins and friends, including Michael Kanter and Sharon and Joel Byron, who were such a comfort this past year. We will miss her smile and all the great food, especially that farfalle.
On January 13, 2026, 11 AM, there will be a memorial service at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091. Please come and share your favorite memory or thoughts of Melanie.
