Ruth Budish

She was born to Irving and Inez Erbstein in Des Moines, Iowa on November 9, 1928. After graduating from high school and two years of college, Ruth moved to Chicago to chase her dreams in the big city. In Chicago, she met her husband, Seymour Budish. Together, they had 2 sons: Layne and Andy. Layne passed away in 2013 at age 53. Andy married Terri Ross and gave Ruth two grandchildren: Kelly and Adam.

Ruth was a voracious reader, finishing whole novels in a few days, and loved to needlepoint - creating many framed projects within her home. Ruth also loved baking with her granddaughter and sharing stories of the many places she traveled in her lifetime around the world. After Seymour passed, Ruth volunteered at the Morton Grove public library and was a docent at the oldest Morton Grove home museum.

A funeral service is scheduled for noon (12pm) on Thursday, September 28th, 2023 at Weinstein and Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette, Illinois. Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery. Shiva will be held following thereafter from 3pm - 9pm at the home of her son, Andrew Budish, 22 Regent Lane, Lincolnshire, Illinois.
