

Scott Reading Solovy, 50. Beloved son of Kathleen Hart Solovy and the late Jerold S. Solovy; loving brother of Kelly (Paul) Peters; kind uncle of Alex & Michael Peters; treasured grandson of the late David & Ida Solovy and the late Robert & Elizabeth Hart; cherished friend of many. Scott graduated from Kendall College and then went on to study in France and honed his skills at many renowned restaurants. He delighted many with his masterpieces at Le Francais in Wheeling, IL and then went on to create delicious plates at Blackbird and Violet. His culinary skills enabled him to travel the world and share his passion. Scott was an avid cyclist and competed professionally at the Velodrome in Northbrook, IL. He often dreamed of riding in the Tour de France. One of his greatest gifts was how he connected with people of all ages but especially children. He loved being a kid himself and mentored many children in his neighborhood. Scott had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all that knew him. Funeral service will be on Thursday, January 13th at 11 AM at Weinstein & Piser Funeral Home, 111 Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL. Interment immediately following at Waldheim Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.
