
Sue Ann Hirsch (Gerwitz) 71, died peacefully in her Chicago home on Tuesday January 30th after a long illness. She is survived by her adoring family - husband Marvin, daughters Lauren Hirsch and Allison (Danny) Sternberg, and grandchildren Eli and Avery Sternberg. Born in Brooklyn New York on November 23rd1946 to the late Rose and Harry Gerwitz., She attended Francis Lewis High School in Flushing, New York,and received her bachelors and masters degrees in education from Queens College of the City University of New York. She was an elementary school teacher in Queens New York for many years. Sue and Marvin were married for 48 years and raised their beautiful twin daughters in West Bloomfield Michigan. There she worked as a substitute teacher and volunteered in the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan School District. She later cofounded and ran a successful consignment clothing business for over 25 years. In 2016 Sue and Marvin moved to Chicago to be close to their daughters and grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Monday, February 5, 11:00 am at Westlawn Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, 7801 W Montrose Ave, Norridge, IL 60706. Interment immediately following.
