I was a Highland Park “Jammer” (over a decade ago) and I’ll never forget the support we all felt from Terry. Maybe this is a silly story, but there was a year that I didn’t get chosen for a lyrical piece in the school’s dance show and I asked her if the decision could be reconsidered since I believed I would do well in the dance. She told me she appreciated that I was advocating for myself and then pulled some strings. I guess there’s a first time for everything but “advocating for myself” was a new concept that she had taught me in that moment and I never forgot it. Did I do well in the lyrical dance? Eh, I was okay, LOL. But I learned that it can be rewarding to question others’ judgment of your potential. Coach Shulman will be greatly missed. - Jessica G.

Terry was such a little ball of energy and positivity. Everyone who knew her loved her. She always had a solution for me when there were costumes that didnt fit. Put on a belt, cut off the sleeves, just add suspenders and WAIT I have a dress at home we can use! She taught me a lot. Working with her for many years was a privilege. Let your memories fill your hearts.

Peter and I are so sorry for your loss.  If I had to describe Terry with one word it would be sunshine.  She was warm, energetic, optimistic, full of life and full of love!  She had her head on straight and her priorities were spot on.  How lucky we all are to have had her in our lives.

Was Terry an AEPhi at the university of Illinois in Champaign?  If so, she was a sorority sister of mine! I remember a Terry Yeager in our sorority! Though I haven’t seen her in many, many years, I do remember her as a very lovely and talented gal!

I loved working with Terry at HPHS. She was a a shinning, guiding light to all of the students who she worked with in the many dance shows and productions she helped put on for so many years.  They loved her and she loved them. 
She was a wonderful mother to her children and I saw that first-hand as our children grew up together and were good friends. She will be remembered for her wonderful smile and so much energy packed into  such a beautiful petite package. 
I will rememberer all of her contribution s to our kids in the Highland Park Community and her amazing bright smile. I hope her family knows how important her contributions were and that she made such a difference to so many.

Terry was a ball of fire! She radiated joy and happiness. She will be missed. My heart breaks for her family. 


Terry was always so upbeat and vibrant! Our families go back to Skokie Ridge days when we were kids. All through the years, whenever I would see her, Terry still radiated that warm, bright smile and sweetness. 
I’m so sorry for the entire family and large circle of friends.

Terry Shulman impacted countless lives in a very real and powerful way. I was lucky enough to begin my relationship with her when I was a young child, and I depended on her support, her confidence in me, and our friendship ever since. Terry was a talented and enthusiastic fireball who inspired everyone around her. Her belief in me, her unwavering loyalty, and her genuine joy and pride in any of my successes both as a child and into adulthood have meant more than she could ever know. Terry’s  family, her many friends and colleagues, and literally generations of her community were so fortunate to love this remarkable woman and be loved by her in return.   We’ve lost an icon in our midst. Terry, thank you for sharing your gifts with us all.  You could never be forgotten.

We had a lot of great times, going to China was one memorable trip loads  of fun and laughters.  Dancing with Your Mother at the parties at  Twin!  Many wonderful memories.

Terry always had a gorgeous smile for all those who were within her sphere.  She encouraged dancers who might not have perfected a plie but made them feel like beautiful ballerinas.  And for adults,  she was the same, always a smile and a kind word.

I  have missed her at HP but I will miss knowing that she is not longer in our world to add beauty, joy and happiness to the lives of those around her.  My condolences to her family.  I can't begin to know their loss.
