Vladimir was born on October 21,1938 in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine where despite raging anti-semitism, he succeeded in advancing thru schooling until achieving a Master's in mechanical engineering with high honors. He met and married Anna (Fishkin) Shubinsky Z"L in Riga, Latvia on October 21,1967, where their daughter Rita was born on July 23,1968; they lived in Riga until immigrating to the United States in 1979. He spent most of his career in the US working at Case Corporation, where he developed and holds multiple transmission gear patents.
Life took a devastating turn when Anna died of ovarian cancer at the age of 50, just two months shy of their 30th wedding anniversary on August 6, 1997.
In 2000 Vlad was introduced to Nataly Spivak, and they were married in 2002. Nataly's family warmly welcomed him, and the 25 years that followed were filled with love, travel, family celebrations, and the joy of raising grandchildren together. Nataly stood by his side and supported him in health and in sickness, through good times and bad, till the very end.
Vlad's energy and heart were larger than life, his spirit warm and welcoming, his soul generous and open. He built a beautiful life in America, always grateful for the opportunities this country offered our family.
Vlad's memory is a blessing and will be treasured by his wife Nataly, daughter Rita (Boris Spevak), brother Gary (Nataly), sons Dan Spivak (Katie) and Andrew Spivak (Natalie), grandchildren Hannah, Mia, Eli, Danny, Mila, Noah and Eleanor, as well as the Fishkin family.
