Walter Heller

Dear husband of Barbara, who preceded him in death, and beloved long-time companion of Janet Kaufman; loving father of Ernest (Kathleen) and Lewis (Carly); adored grandfather of Sarah Bailey, Jacob (Rachael) Heller, Gabriel (Brittany) Heller, and Caitlin (Matthew) Seiboldt; cherished great-grandfather of Caleb, Willow, Levi, Evan, Jonah, Davis, Jude, and Arlo; fond brother-in-law, uncle, and friend of many. Preceded also in death by his parents, Ernest and Minnie, and by his brother, Ralph (Jean) Heller.

Walter was a proud United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and served with distinction.

A devoted fan of playing various card games (bridge, pinochle, and poker), golf, and following the stock market; Walter also enjoyed vacation cruises, traveling, and sightseeing, especially after he retired from 50 years of working as an insurance agent and broker.

His memory will continue to bring joy to his loved ones.

Friends and family will gather for a graveside service for Walter that will be held on Tuesday, June 20th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Gardens Cemetery, 3600 North Narragansett Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association or the COPD Foundation.
