Dear Ben,
It's hard to believe you no longer are here with us. I'm going to miss you terribly and just writing this message after lighting this candle is making me cry. Thanks for all the terrific times we had together, I'll cherish them forever. My love for you will always be in my heart. I'm happy you're in a better place now. Now you can talk to all the people in the Bible, and with your mom and dad, too. Love, Carol

Dear Esparza family,
I'm sorry to hear that Ben passed away a week ago last Tuesday. He was an extremely wonderful friend of mine and we had a very close relationship with each other. Although he'll no longer be with me, I'll always have love for him in my heart.

Please accept my condolences for his passing; as Wilmington is far from here, I won't be able to attend the funeral tomorrow. I'll be praying for him and also that the Lord comfort you in this time of sadness.

Love,
Carol
