He was predeceased by his spouse, Rita Centeno, and his daughter, Martha Centeno. He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Centeno, and his son, Joseph Centeno. Jose also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Wilmington, located at 1640 N. Avalon Blvd., Wilmington, CA 90744, on February 5, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
