Angela Moore Butner,44, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 23, 2015 after losing a tough but amazing battle with Melanoma. Angie was born November 9, 1970 in Wilmington and attended Laney High School and then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Angie worked hard to become a successful pharmaceutical clinical team manager last working for RPS and PRA Health Sciences all while being a mother of two. Angie's contagious smile always put others at ease. She was a Deacon and active member at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church. She helped others grow in their Faith and soon became a Beacon of Hope for so many people in our community and afar. Angie loved spending time with her family and friends, and especially loved seeing the children explore Bald Head Island and play soccer at the YMCA. She enjoyed seeing all the young children become strong Christians through the Children's Ministry Program at SACPC. Angie was predeceased by her sister Allison Elizabeth and is survived by her husband, Gregory Thomas Butner and their children, Ford (7) and Maggie (5); her parents Lloyd and Margaret Ann Moore; brother, Michael and his children Britany and Colin; her cousin Michelle King, who was like a sister; many beloved aunts, uncles, and her loving rescue dog of 15 years, Abby. We are grateful to all who prayed for Angie and to Dr. Kenneth Kotz , the many surgeons and nurses at NHRMC, and to Dr. April Salama at Duke for allowing Angie to have months when she could of only had days. She had the best week in months last week before the turn of events that led her to the caring and loving staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center who kept Angie and the family comfortable in her last days. The family will receive friends from 4 pm until 6 pm Sunday, September 27, 2015 at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Andrews Covenant Presbyterian Church with Reverend David Augustus and Reverend Steve Hein officiating.
