

Ann Patrica Palmer (Annie Girl), beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, Aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully on April 27, 2022 at the age of 83 with family and friends by her side in Sneads Ferry NC. Ann was born on April 17, 1939 and raised in NYC Greenwich Village area to the late Peter and Anne Kerwin (nee Mateyko). Ann married Robert W. Palmer from Mamaroneck NY on May 9, 1964 and lived in Westchester County NY, settling in Ossining NY in 1967 where they raise their children Cindy, Bill and Jim.
Ann worked with several direct sales companies. Owner operator of OJI Modular Homes. In 2000 they finished building their retirement dream home in Sneads Ferry NC.
She had joined many groups where she has met hundreds of people and established several close friendships. These groups included the New River Sail and Power Squadron, New River Garden Club, Red Hat society, Topsail Ladies Club and Catholic Daughters As well as volunteering for the Sneads Ferry Shrimp Festive, Historical Society and Missiles & More of Topsail Island, several years of the Turtle Walk, the former Sneads Ferry Senior Citizens Community Building on Rt 172.
Her most precious time though was spent with her groups that played games. Her two favorite groups were the Tuesday Mahjong Group, and several Bunco Groups. She loved the people in these groups, and she would never want to miss a game. If she were away she would try to get back without missing one of them!
Ann was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2001, her sister Barbara DiTomasso (Edward) of Brooklyn, NY, Brother Larry Kerwin, nephews Louie DiTomasso, Peter DiTomasso and sister in-laws and brother in-laws.
She leaves to treasure her memory with daughter Cindy Palmer (Charlie Baron) of Danbury CT, her son Bill Palmer (Cathy) of Chesterfield VA, and her son Jim Palmer of Sneads Ferry NC, and her 3 grandchildren (Larissa, Bobby, and Becky) and 1 great-grandchild (April). She also leaves behind her brother John (Maryann) of Montgomery NY, brother Peter (Linda) of Belmar NJ, sister Mary (Peter) of NYC, sister-in-law Mickie and many nieces, nephews and their families.
Thank you to all the friends down in Sneads Ferry NC that made her transition more comfortable and keeping her company during her final days. You all are so appreciated by family and friends that could not be by her side.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at 12 noon at All Saints Catholic Church, 18737 US-17, Hampstead NC 28443.
On June 8, 2022 a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 25 Eastern Ave, Ossining, NY 10562, Burial to follow at Kensico Cemetery at 1PM, 273 Lakeview Ave. Valhalla, NY 10595.
